Australian flora and fauna has always captured my heart, it often is a subject of my work. Banksia, particularly, are so beautiful and also have character. I love the shape and texture of the flowers and the leaves as well. Whenever I go on my trail runs I like to single out one particular Banksia I see and give it a name and look for it on my return. No wonder May Gibbs invented 'Mr Banksia'.
My style of art, I feel, really gives a sense of rough beauty that is a Banksia. I hope you love this piece as much as I do!
This is painted onto a stretched canvas that is ready to hang and has been professionally framed in a stunning, raw, Tasmainan oak frame. 'Happy Banksia' will really turn heads in your space!
